Condition: Print examined outside of frame. Overall good condition with wear commensurate with age. Mild waviness to the print. Backs of print has small water stain along bottom edge (stain not visible on front of print). Original steel frame. We installed new acrylic non-glare UV-resistant glazing.
Edna Andrade (1917-2008) was an American artist known for her contributions to Op Art and geometric abstraction. Born in Ohio, Andrade studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art and later became a professor of painting and printmaking at Moore College of Art and Design. Her meticulously crafted paintings and prints often featured vibrant colors and intricate patterns, exploring the effects of optical illusions and engaging viewers in perceptual experiences.
