Our grandfathers are our inspiration. One was a town planner who bootstrapped his way out of a village. While his day job moved the family to a comfortable lifestyle, his heart persistently pulled him back to the arts. The other worked in animal husbandry and mastered artisanal skills, always tinkering, collecting, and restoring forgotten treasures. Creativity was woven into their lives, shaping the way they saw the world.

When we began exploring the vintage art market to furnish our home in Alexandria, Virginia, we found more than décor—we uncovered a deep well of inspiration. Each piece we discovered offered a window into the artist’s creative journey. Immersing ourselves in these works unexpectedly helped us discover our own artistic voices, following in the footsteps of our grandparents, and shaped how we see and create.

What started as a personal pursuit quickly became something more. As we shared these stories with family and friends, we saw how art has the power to bridge past and
present, sparking curiosity and conversation. That passion led us to create Old Town Fine Arts—a place to celebrate the beauty of vintage works and the timeless inspiration they offer.
